Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd is seeking a Production Technician to oversee and support day-to-day production activities in a hands-on CNC environment. The role involves mentoring operators, solving manufacturing issues, and driving output, quality and efficiency toward targets.

The ideal candidate has strong CNC machining knowledge, prior leadership experience, and a track record of improving team performance while maintaining health, safety and quality standards across the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC machinist or supervisor in precision manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor production teams.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Track record of continuous improvement and meeting KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production activities across the manufacturing area.
• Lead, mentor and develop production operators and machinists.
• Set production priorities and ensure schedules are achieved.
• Monitor performance, productivity and quality metrics.
• Carry out root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Provide hands-on machining support when required.
• Support machine set-ups, process optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Drive continuous improvement to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety procedures.
• Assist with training and development of production staff.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve challenges.
• Support capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Introduce best practice manufacturing techniques.
• Participate in production review meetings.
• Promote a positive and proactive shop floor culture.
