Lockheed Martin Corporation in Ampthill seeks an experienced Lead Machining Manufacturing Engineer to steer CNC machining strategy and tooling initiatives. The role drives manufacturing excellence via optimized programming, fixture design, tooling strategy, and process improvements.

You will collaborate with Design Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to develop robust machining processes for both prototype and production environments, including multi-axis programming

Competenze

• 5+ years in CNC manufacturing or precision machining
• Proficient in 3-, 4-, and 5-axis programming and machining
• Deep knowledge of tooling, feeds and speeds, and fixture design
• Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

Mansioni

• Lead CNC machining strategy development across the Operations Engineering department.
• Develop and improve operating processes and incorporate into governing processes.
• Own and develop the technology roadmap for machining.
• Design, optimize, and validate CNC programs for 3/4/5-axis machining.
• Implement advanced fixturing and workholding to improve repeatability and throughput.
• Select and optimize tooling and machining parameters for various materials.
• Establish best practices for machining operations and process standardisation.
• Support NPI activities through DFM and manufacturing documentation.
