Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation in Ampthill, UK seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling) to design, develop and implement industrial tooling and fixtures for production and experimentation, using CREO and Windchill.

You will drive tooling across full product lifecycle, contribute to cost reduction and yield improvement, and collaborate with Industrial and Production Engineering to support milestones and capital plans.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing technologies knowledge.
• Effective communication across levels of the business.
• Independent thinker with an assertive stance on quality and customer requirements.
• Experience in design and manufacturing processes.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Proficiency with CREO CAD for drawings.
• Experience in creating operational documentation and manufacturing data-packs.
• Ability to drive process, behavioural and cultural changes.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
• Design new tooling and fixturing requirements.
• Create Technical Requirement Specifications.
• Create detailed process instructions.
• Create Manufacturing BOMs and routings.
• Participate in customer and programme meetings.
• Support Capital plan definitions and acceptance.
• Support production readiness for Ampthill projects.
• Coordinate with Industrial and Production Engineering teams.
• Maintain and update relevant documentation.
