Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to shape the cloud foundation used by thousands of engineers across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. You will join an agile team delivering platform services that scale securely and reliably.

You will mentor engineers, own design decisions, and help advance enterprise AI-assisted development practices while expanding platform capabilities across multiple clouds.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java, Python, or Go).
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Ability to own technical design decisions and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, high-quality production code for cloud platform services and tooling, and review code written by others
• Own significant technical design decisions, contributing to product design and platform architecture
• Build deep knowledge of the platform and share it to avoid single points of knowledge
• Mentor other engineers and raise engineering practices across the team
• Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks and best practices
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
