Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Glasgow, United Kingdom, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help shape the cloud foundation used by thousands of engineers.

You will work across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud to build, extend, and operationalize a multi-cloud provisioning platform. You will own technical design decisions, mentor team members, and promote enterprise practices for secure, scalable software delivery and AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Advanced training or certification in software engineering concepts
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go
• Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining production software systems
• Experience owning technical design decisions and mentoring other engineers
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and microservices patterns
• Proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools and validating AI outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, high-quality production code for cloud platform services
• Own significant technical design decisions and contribute to platform architecture
• Build deep knowledge of the platform and share it across the team
• Mentor other engineers and raise engineering practices
• Contribute to engineering community through firmwide frameworks and tools
