Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the Intensive Support Team for adults with learning disabilities. You will provide highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions in the community, aiming to minimise challenging behaviour and improve quality of life.

The role includes supervising junior staff, offering consultation to colleagues, and contributing to service development, research, audits and staff training.

Qualifications

• Qualified psychologist with experience in learning disabilities.
• Experience providing psychological assessments and interventions.
• Ability to communicate complex information to professionals and patients.
• Experience in research, service evaluation and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist psychological assessments and treatments.
• Supervise junior staff and provide MDT supervision.
• Consult with staff and compile reports for professional agencies.
• Develop and monitor service policies, audits and evaluations.
• Deliver training on psychological approaches to staff and agencies.
• Support wellbeing and reflective practice within the team.
• Engage in project management and research within the service.
