NHS Jobs in Gateshead is recruiting for a Lead Clinical Pharmacist in Surgery. The post-holder will provide visible clinical leadership, oversee medicines optimisation and line-manage the pharmacy team to deliver high-quality patient care within the Surgical BU.

Interviews are scheduled for 13 October 2026. The role requires strategic collaboration with senior leaders and active participation in governance, budgets and service development to ensure safe, effective and sustainable pharmacy

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Pharmacy is essential.
• Post-graduate clinical pharmacy diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Leadership/Management qualification or relevant experience.
• Evidence of CPD and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pharmacy services and medicines optimisation for the Surgical BU.
• Line manage pharmacy staff and support development and performance.
• Contribute to budgets, governance and policy development.
• Lead on medicines safety, audits and cost-effective prescribing.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and colleagues to meet targets.
