Job summary

Gateshead Health is seeking a forward-thinking Lead Clinical Pharmacist for the Surgery unit to deliver safe, effective medicines optimisation and high-quality pharmacy services. You will lead a clinical team, drive performance, and collaborate with senior leaders to align with Trust objectives.

The role requires demonstrable leadership, strategic planning and a commitment to patient-centered care within the Surgical BU.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Pharmacy is required or equivalent experience.
Post-graduate clinical pharmacy diploma or relevant experience.
Leadership or management qualification or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Line management of a clinical team with appraisals, objective setting and performance management.
Development and monitoring of medicines-related policies, procedures and guidelines.
Work closely with senior leaders within the surgical business unit to ensure high-quality service provision.
Manage the pharmacy budget allocated to the BU and use advanced drug utilisation skills for budgeting.
Provide specialist medicines support, advice and expertise to the BU via meetings and incident reviews.
Lead on medicines safety, incident reporting and learning themes across the BU.
Deliver education, training and supervision to pharmacy staff within the area of responsibility.
