Site: The Portland Hospital, London
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with on-call and weekend requirements.
Contract Type: Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Clinical Pharmacist to join The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, rated "Good" by the CQC. The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to women and children's healthcare, caring for over 40,000 children annually. The hospital features a modern 18-bed unit within PICU, equipped with the latest technology and supported by a team of Consultant Paediatric Intensivists 24/7.

In this role, you will be a key member of the pharmacy leadership team, responsible for developing, monitoring, and leading the provision of a high-quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy service that meets the needs of all service users.

The Lead Clinical Pharmacist will lead service and professional development, audit, and monitoring of KPIs. You will also be a key stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) and will play an integral role in training, education, and mentorship of pharmacists and technical staff.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing specialist services for Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care
  • Leading drug validation and configuration for ICCA prescribing system
  • Leading drug validation and configuration for Meditech
  • Expanding prescribing system capabilities
  • Providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters in PICU and NICU
  • Participating in clinical audits and transformation projects
Skills and Experience
  • MPharm (or equivalent) and registered with the GPhC
  • Independent Prescriber (desirable)
  • Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Masters in Clinical Pharmacy (or willingness to enroll)
  • Experience in PICU/NICU specialties
  • Experience in areas like paediatrics, women's health, critical care, cardiology, and enteral nutrition
  • Experience working in a hospital setting
