Job summary

Job description

The London Neonatal Transfer Service (NTS) is offering 6-12-month fellowships starting September 2025, with the option to extend by mutual agreement. The posts suit senior middle-grade or post-CCT doctors who seek focused training in neonatal transport together with leadership, quality-improvement and operational experience before consultant appointment.

Why choose London NTS?

o In 2023-24 we processed 2,340 requests and completed 1,903 transfers, including 950 emergencies, making NTS consistently the UK's highest-volume neonatal transfer service.o Road-based with air capability, covering emergency uplift, palliative and elective repatriation across 26 London units, with occasional PICU transfers.o A dedicated NTS Consultant Neonatologist is always available for clinical and operational advice.o Fellows typically lead 80-100 emergency transfers in six months, each formally debriefed and logged for reflection.

o Leadership, management, research, QI and CPD opportunities.o Regular simulation, Human Factors and clinical governance sessions.o Access to the co-located 44-cot medico-surgical NICU, Children's Hospital and Fetal Medicine service at the Royal London Hospital.

Working arrangements:Fellows participate in a compliant, rolling full-shift rota with scheduled admin and professional-development time. Flexibility and collaborative rota management are actively encouraged.
