Job summary

Vertas is seeking a Cleaner in Charge at Kirklington Primary, NG22 8NG, to lead on-site cleaning for 12.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 06:00–08:30), across 44 weeks per year. You will supervise colleagues, allocate duties, and ensure high hygiene standards across classrooms and communal areas.

The role requires prior cleaning experience; supervisory ability is desirable, along with strong communication and leadership skills. Right to work in the UK is required. DBS checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is essential.
• Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Great communication skills in a cleaning setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting cleaning colleagues on site.
• Allocating daily cleaning duties and monitoring performance.
• Cleaning toilets and washrooms.
• Wiping down tables and surfaces.
• General cleaning duties across classrooms and communal areas.
• Hoovering and mopping floors.
• Completing quality checks and maintaining cleaning records.
• Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
• Reporting any issues, defects or hazards promptly.
• Following health and safety procedures at all times.
