JML JobMatcha is partnering with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced Civil Works Manager for a major infrastructure project in the Carlisle area of Cumbria.

As Works Manager, you’ll own day-to-day site operations, manage subcontractors and site teams, and ensure works progress safely, on programme, and to the required quality.

This long-term role offers a competitive day rate of £400-£440 and the chance to work on a high-profile scheme that will enhance your CV.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Works Manager on civils projects.
• Proven track record delivering civil engineering and infrastructure works.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures and site management.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating day-to-day site operations.
• Overseeing subcontractors, site teams, and supervisors.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
• Monitoring progress and reporting to senior management.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Liaising with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders.
