Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead major water and wastewater projects from Tamworth. You will act as the technical authority, guiding multidisciplinary teams and interacting with clients to ensure delivery from feasibility through construction support.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, around 10 years' UK water experience, and strong leadership. You will mentor engineers and contribute to business growth in a fast-growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Civil Engineering degree and chartered status with ICE/IStructE/CIWEM or equivalent.
• Around 10 years' UK water sector experience.
• Strong knowledge of non-infrastructure project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design and delivery for water and wastewater projects.
• Oversee RC design, foundations and civil works.
• Review and approve technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Manage budgets, programmes and resource planning.
• Support proposals, bids and business development activities.
• Promote quality assurance and health & safety.
