Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join the Local Streets and Infrastructure team in the Norwich/Cambridge office. You will combine managerial leadership with technical delivery to drive highway and infrastructure projects.

The role offers autonomy, collaboration across the UK and overseas, and opportunities to grow within a team of specialists. Chartered status and a strong track record in highway design are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered (or Incorporated) Engineer with proven leadership on highway projects.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary design projects within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Managing the planning, design and implementation of infrastructure projects including Section 278s, bus priority, active travel, regeneration, and transport hubs
• Managing Client relationships
• Demonstrating leadership and ensuring adherence to Health & Safety policy and procedures
• Leading and managing a team of engineers, delivering projects to client requirements, programme and budget
• Mentoring and developing junior staff
• Experience of working with Design and Build Contractors
• Experience of delivering infrastructure projects through the full lifecycle, including design and build or contractor-led design projects
• Experience in preparing fee proposals, contributing to business development, and building client relationships, including with local authorities, government clients, private developers and contractor clients
