Job summary

Altrad in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join the Defence team onsite. This full-time role focuses on civil and structural engineering requirements on complex projects.

You will lead design assurance, manage engineering support, liaise with stakeholders and ensure safety and quality across the project lifecycle. Applicants should have chartered status and proven capability in delivering defence sector projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing design assurance for complex projects.
• Experience in civil engineering for complex projects.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Identify project functional requirements, Works Information, GI specs, RFIs.
• Manage engineering support to the project.
• Support project optioneering process.
• Review and accept project drawings and documentation.
• Manage detailed design activities per project standards.
• Provide technical supervision of contractors’ work and risk assessments.
• Supervise commissioning/decommissioning as required.
• Liaise with stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
