Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking an Engineer for the Highways and Asset Services team in Birmingham (with office flexibility to Bristol/Cardiff). You will lead design work, support Herefordshire contracts, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver schemes that enhance the local network.

You will prepare feasibility studies, detailed designs and contract documents, while mentoring graduates and coordinating resources. Hybrid working and client liaison are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline with practical experience in civil/structures projects.
• Proven capability in highway or structures engineering design.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and specifications per local standards and DMRB.
• Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil3D where applicable.
• Deliver work packages and potentially manage schemes and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate engineering resources.
• Provide technical support to project managers, pricing and reports.
• Check and certify designs, documents and reports for issue.
