Job Description

My Client is looking for a Civil Engineering Lead based in Bristol (hybrid work model). Key duties include:

1. Coordinating with building leads on the production and approval of specific documents such as Input Data Packages, Design Substantiation Reports, handover reports, and hypothesis notes.
2. Supporting the preparation of technical documentation for procurement in collaboration with the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL).
3. Assisting the client in coordinating technical discussions during procurement before contract signing with the civil designer.
4. Ensuring technical issues are addressed by the CI/BOP CW activities, responsible for resolving complex technical open points within scope.
5. Supporting the client in coordinating with civil designers and stakeholders to produce and review design deliverables, ensuring alignment with schedules.
6. Identifying updates needed for key and transverse documents and producing them timely for input data packages.
7. Coordinating and supporting design open points management with building and technical leads.
8. Providing technical support to the Contract Engineering Lead on specific topics.
9. Supporting the client in preparing progress reports and identifying risks to schedule or costs.
10. Reviewing technical proposals for design variations with support from Building Leads.
11. Managing workload and resources, distributing tasks, assessing team performance, and ensuring homogeneous deliverables.
12. Coordinating the preparation and presentation of design change papers in change committees.
13. Collecting, analyzing, and verifying input data from previous projects and disciplines, liaising with on-site engineering teams for data and lessons learned.
14. Participating in maturity and gate reviews with stakeholders.
15. Coordinating and contributing to CDM reviews, maintaining the Design Risk Register.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Experience in civil engineering design offices, especially in designing and detailing industrial reinforced concrete structures.
• Experience in the nuclear sector is advantageous.
