Job description

Principal Civil Engineer

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated individual to join their team as a Principal Civil Engineer in Bristol.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing a variety of infrastructure schemes on some of the country's largest and most prestigious developments.

Key Disciplines:

• Highway design (S38 / S278) - preliminary and detailed.
• Drainage design (S104 / S98) - strategic and detailed.
• Design of foul pumping stations, SUDS, flow control structures, and balancing facilities.
• Residential and commercial external works design, including earthworks assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake detailed design of infrastructure schemes from feasibility to construction stage.
• Ensure designs meet high technical standards.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, and other professionals to develop efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Manage design budgets and project timelines.
• Support tender documentation, site supervision, and contract administration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or near-chartered status with relevant professional institutions.
• Experience in similar roles with a successful project delivery record.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage.
• Excellent communication, project management, and teamwork skills.
• Full driving license.
