Job summary

Omexom UK is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (SDE) for Civils within OHL to lead and manage infrastructure design projects in the UK. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality civil and structural designs, producing calculations, and guiding graduates and junior engineers within a collaborative design team.

You will act as technical lead on civil elements, ensure compliance with UK standards and Eurocodes, and drive safe, buildable solutions while coordinating with construction teams

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/structural engineering; MSc/MEng advantageous.
• CEng status or working towards chartership.
• Membership in IET, CIGRÉ or IEEE desirable.
• Experience with British Standards and Eurocodes.
• 5+ years civils design: access, geotechnical, foundation, temporary works.
• Proficiency with Tekla Tedds, MS Office, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to lead calculations, simulations and assessments.
• Experience mentoring staff and supervising teams.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for civil elements on OHL projects.
• Produce civil and structural design and calculations.
• Lead technical peer reviews and design audits.
• Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors for civils work.
• Maintain design records and QA procedures.
• Support tender efforts and input for HAZID/HACON meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge transfer.
