Job summary

SSE is seeking a Lead Project Manager (Civils) to drive the delivery of major Civil & Building packages for our transmission projects across the north of Scotland. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, work with external contractors and consultants, and travel regularly to site locations.

The role focuses on safety, governance, and timely delivery within the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment framework, supporting net-zero ambitions and government targets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading project teams to deliver large infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial background with experience managing multi‑million pound contracts (over £100m).
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; adept at governance for large projects.

Responsibilities

• Report to Deputy Project Director and oversee Civil & Building packages within the wider transmission projects.
• Work with Transmission Management to ensure safety performance and regulatory compliance in project delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, stakeholders and communities to support project delivery.
• Provide site-based leadership throughout delivery to drive progress and SHEQ outcomes.
