Job summary

Compass Group UK is seeking a Lead Chef - Retail to lead kitchen teams across our SEC/The Ovo Hydro operations. You will support the Head Chef, oversee food preparation, and ensure high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation in line with client requirements.

The role includes menu development, cost control, staff training, and collaboration with nutritionists to meet athlete dietary needs, delivering an exceptional dining experience for players and staff at our venues.

Qualifications

• Senior culinary leadership experience, ideally in stadia/hospitality or high-performance settings.
• Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation and kitchen management.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in menu planning and development with Head Chef.
• Oversee food preparation and cooking ensuring high standards of quality, taste and presentation.
• Lead and mentor kitchen staff, providing training and support on nutrition and culinary techniques.
• Maintain consistent food quality and presentation with continuous quality improvements.
• Manage inventory and control food costs while minimising waste.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and conduct regular audits.
