Job summary

Gold Care Homes seeks a passionate Chef to lead kitchen operations, ensure high-quality dishes, and manage budget and staff. The role requires strong organizational skills, calmness under pressure, and a creative approach to menus. You will work with management to price items and maintain food safety standards across the kitchen.

You will hire and train kitchen staff, oversee prep and cooking, monitor inventory, and continuously improve presentation and quality for patrons.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a Chef
• Degree in culinary arts preferred
• Licensure from the FDA as applicable
• Excellent multitasking, communication, and organizational skills
• Superb attention to detail
• Strong creativity when creating menus
• Budget management skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and cleanup
• Manage kitchen staff by delegating tasks
• Hire and train all kitchen staff members
• Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines
• Create menus that appeal to customers, including special seasonal menus
• Work alongside restaurant management to price menu items
• Provide feedback on food preparation and presentation
• Inspect food items to ensure quality
• Monitor inventory and workshop ways to reduce food spoilage
• Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, scheduling repairs when required
• Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure goals are being met
