Job summary

Jewish Care is seeking a caring, motivated Care Team Leader to join our residential and nursing care teams. You will lead shifts, support and guide care staff, and ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and responsive care that promotes wellbeing, dignity, independence, and quality of life.

You will work on a rota with evenings and weekends, averaging 40.25 hours per week, in a warm, inclusive environment that values staff development and teamwork.

Qualifications

• QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent is essential.
• Experience supervising staff in a care setting.
• Experience supporting older people, including individuals living with dementia and physical disabilities.
• Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and person-centred care practices.
• Knowledge of medication administration and CQC regulations/KLOEs.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage challenging situations positively and work under pressure.
• Good IT skills, including the use of electronic care planning systems.
• A flexible and compassionate approach to supporting residents' needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and coordinate care staff to ensure high standards of care.
• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities according to care plans.
• Promote residents' physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
• Contribute to development and review of care plans to keep care person-centred.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, emergencies and resident requests.
• Mentor and motivate care staff to maintain a positive team culture.
• Assist with staff induction, supervision and ongoing development including agency staff.
