General Summary

The Lead Buyer will develop and execute global purchasing strategies for finished and raw materials for Plenty Pumps. Responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of quality components, managing supplier relationships, and maximizing procurement efficiencies and cost savings. The role involves sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of all commodities for the pump market, supporting internal and external customer requirements, and maintaining procurement metrics and reporting.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing function and manage all procurement activities from RFQs to order placement and expediting.
• Procure materials and services across all categories required for manufacturing Celeros Flow Technology Pumps.
• Allocate workload within the purchasing team, ensuring requisitions include relevant quality plans and specifications.
• Raise RFQs via SAP, ensuring competitive tendering with at least three vendors.
• Evaluate vendor quotes against requirements, costs, lead times, and specifications.
• Create purchase orders, ensuring all quality and technical documentation are provided.
• Continuously expedite orders, update SAP and internal stakeholders, and ensure project delivery.
• Address NCRs and ECNs, liaising internally and externally for resolution.
• Support site leadership with procurement KPIs and reporting.
• Source new vendors, resolve conflicts, and monitor technological advances affecting procurement.
• Improve on-time delivery and quality performance of subcontractors, and develop procurement strategies to maximize purchasing power and savings.

Skills

• Strong negotiation, cost analysis, influencing, interpersonal, communication, and IT skills, including SAP or equivalent, and vendor management.

Education and Experience

• Experience with procurement of various commodities such as raw materials, electronics, connectors, etc.
• Experience with tenders, contracts, subcontract management, and standards.
• CIPS qualification or HNC, Degree in business, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
