General Summary

The Lead Buyer will develop and execute global procurement strategies for raw and finished materials for Plenty Pumps. Responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of quality components, managing supplier relationships, negotiating prices, and maximizing cost savings. The role involves sourcing, vendor selection, and supporting bid activities, with a focus on supporting internal and external customer needs.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing team and manage procurement activities from RFQs to order placement and expediting.
• Procure materials and services for manufacturing, covering various categories including raw materials, electronics, and mechanical components.
• Assign workload within the team, ensuring requisitions include quality plans and technical specs.
• Generate RFQs via SAP, ensuring competitive tendering and value for money.
• Evaluate vendor quotes based on requirements, costs, lead times, and specifications.
• Create purchase orders, ensuring all quality documentation is provided.
• Expedite orders and update SAP and stakeholders to meet project timelines.
• Handle NCRs and ECNs, coordinating resolutions internally and externally.
• Support KPI reporting and develop sourcing strategies to optimize procurement and savings.

Skills

• Strong negotiation, cost analysis, vendor management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SAP or equivalent IT systems.

Education and Experience

• Experience sourcing diverse commodities including raw materials and electronic components.
• Experience with tenders, contracts, and subcontract management.
• CIPS qualification or HNC/Degree in business, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
