Job Description

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of digital product initiatives. You will ensure requirements are effectively captured, documented, and prioritised in alignment with product strategy. You will act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users, driving the development, enhancement, testing, and delivery of digital products within an Agile framework. This role involves creating high-quality documentation, including API integrations, and leveraging your expertise to guide projects to success. As a leader, you will mentor team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives while representing the Digital Product and Innovation team.

Responsibilities
  • Requirements Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyse, and prioritise requirements for new and existing deliveries. Lead and facilitate workshops/meetings to gather requirements and present solutions confidently to internal and external stakeholders. Document and manage API requirements, ensuring alignment with REST/GraphQL principles and system capabilities. Develop and maintain business artefacts such as user journeys, process maps, and capability models.
  • Delivery and Collaboration: Act as a key interface across the enterprise, ensuring effective cross-communication of requirements, needs, and concepts. Work closely with the scrum team, ensuring adherence to Agile best practices and timely delivery of high-quality solutions. Support in-sprint testing, including planning, coordination, and execution to ensure system changes align with user story outcomes. Provide post-implementation support, including system and user acceptance testing and early life support.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing consultancy to ensure successful project delivery. Act as a champion for process improvement and innovation within the Digital Product and Innovation team. Keep all stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and issues, ensuring effective communication and transparency.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage knowledge of API principles (REST/GraphQL), web technologies (e.g., cookies, HTML, JSON), and authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth2, SAML). Utilise your expertise in regulations and processes to guide the development of compliant and user-focused solutions. Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to inform product enhancements and strategies. Contribute to the evaluation of key technology providers and operating models to support product innovation.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior business analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance. Take ownership of deliverables, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met consistently. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, advocating for change and driving team development.

What You Will Bring
  • Over 5 years’ experience or familiarity with investment funds, asset management processes, financial product lifecycle, and relevant regulations.
  • Experienced and proven record of delivering products.
  • Proven IT analytical skills based on various analysis methodologies.
  • Understanding of API principles such as REST / GraphQL.
  • Strong and proven interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with digital portal platforms (Web/Mobile App).
Desirable
  • Machine Learning experience.
  • Experience of UX/UI design.
  • Basic AS400 and SQL skills or their equivalents.
  • Experience delivering digital products within financial services.
  • Understanding of key technology providers and varying.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of business architecture methodology (capability models/ user journeys etc.).
  • Understanding of SS&C systems and technology infrastructure, both current and proposed.
  • Previous experience within financial services change environment.
  • Knowledge of Transfer Agency operations.
