Harnham is seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst (Tableau) in London to own a critical Tableau environment amid data transformation. You will shape BI strategy, set governance, and advance the analytics function as it migrates to a cloud-first architecture.

Qualifications

  • Leading end-to-end Tableau development across Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and Tableau Cloud.
  • Designing and maintaining scalable data sources, semantic layers, and reporting solutions.
  • Defining and embedding Tableau development best practices across the business.
  • Building high-quality dashboards that deliver actionable business insights.
  • Writing and optimising SQL across cloud and enterprise data environments.
  • Supporting and enabling business users with self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Owning BI governance, data quality frameworks, and reporting standards.
  • Acting as the escalation point for complex BI and reporting challenges.
  • Partnering with data engineering teams on architecture, modelling, and performance optimisation.
  • Contributing to a major cloud migration programme and helping modernise the wider analytics ecosystem.

Lead Business Intelligence Analyst (Tableau)

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical Tableau environment at a time of significant data transformation. You'll play a leading role in shaping BI best practice, influencing data strategy, and helping modernise a growing analytics function as it transitions to a cloud-first architecture.

The Role

As a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst, you will act as the technical lead for Tableau across the organisation, driving standards, governance, and platform maturity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end Tableau development across Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and Tableau Cloud
  • Designing and maintaining scalable data sources, semantic layers, and reporting solutions
  • Defining and embedding Tableau development best practices across the business
  • Building high-quality dashboards that deliver actionable business insights
  • Writing and optimising SQL across cloud and enterprise data environments
  • Supporting and enabling business users with self-service analytics capabilities
  • Owning BI governance, data quality frameworks, and reporting standards
  • Acting as the escalation point for complex BI and reporting challenges
  • Partnering with data engineering teams on architecture, modelling, and performance optimisation

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Tableau, including dashboard development, data source development, and Tableau Prep
  • Experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions rather than focusing solely on front-end reporting
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex querying, table creation, and performance optimisation
  • Experience improving, scaling, or maturing a Tableau environment
  • Understanding of data modelling, governance, and BI best practices
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms, migrations, or analytics modernisation programmes is advantageous
  • Exposure to Tableau administration, performance tuning, and self-service analytics initiatives would be beneficial
