ASA Recruitment's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, is seeking a Lead Business Analyst on a hybrid/remote basis for an initial 6-month contract at c.£600/day inside IR35.

You will develop an improved Oracle support model, drive operational readiness, and provide hands-on leadership to BAs, shaping standards across corporate applications.

ASA Recruitment's client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Lead Business Analyst on a hybrid/remote basis, on an initial 6-month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate of c.£600/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).

THE ROLE

This role will be working on the development of an improved Oracle support model, including supporting the delivery of programmes and transition into business-as-usual operations. It is intended that this support model design will set the standard for corporate applications, offering the opportunity to standardise across operations. The organisation is looking for a Lead BA with strong business architecture and operational readiness experience. The role is less about the management of a BA team and more about the active delivery of quality BA work to support operational readiness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads by example in the application of a range of analysis techniques to analyse the current state, of people, processes, and technology with our stakeholders
• Facilitates collaboration and leads effective communication with all stakeholders, both business and technical, to support design, build and delivery to meet the user needs
• Drive improvements to the overall quality of the analysis service through close collaboration with Head of Business Architecture and Analysis and other team members
• Provide leadership and management to a team of Business Analysts, giving direction and advice where necessary
• Providing effective consultancy and advice to customers and stakeholders
• Develop an understanding of the organisation's strategic goals, ensuring this is recognised through solutions and performance improvement
• Build capability within own team, implementing best practice and enhancing skills capability through coaching and mentoring
• Lead your team and ensure all analytical design work is in line with the Digital and Data standards
• Have people management responsibilities and support mentoring across teams, as required
• Takes a leading role in the Business Analysis practice events and mentors others

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Experience designing and implementing operational support models for new digital services and business systems. Track record creating support documentation (e.g. operating procedures, support processes, knowledge articles, service handbooks, service transition documentation, roles and responsibilities matrices (RACI))
• Experience supporting service transition from project delivery into business-as-usual operations.
• Understanding of incident, problem and service request management processes.
• Experience supporting the implementation of payment processing solutions and associated operational controls.
• Understanding of end-to-end payment lifecycles, reconciliation processes, exception handling and financial controls.
• Experience working with finance, operations and technology teams to ensure payment services are operationally robust.
• Experience applying business architecture techniques to support organisational change.
• Experience identifying impacts on people, process, technology and policy arising from business change.
• Experience in identifying gaps of friction and achieving alignment on the operating model.
