Job summary

Somerset Council seeks a Building Surveyor/Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of construction and improvement projects across corporate, commercial, and educational assets in Somerset. You will manage from inception through to completion, ensuring safety, compliance and value within budgets.

The role requires a strong track record in maintenance/refurbishment projects, an RICS-accredited degree, and professional membership or progression.

Qualifications

Experience delivering maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects.
RICS-accredited degree or equivalent required.
Associate or Chartered membership or working towards.
Driving licence and car access essential.
Willingness to travel across Somerset sites.

Responsibilities

Shape and deliver the Council's strategic building projects with strong oversight.
Own projects from concept through to completion with practical problem-solving.
Procure and manage consultants, contractors and wider supply chains.
Lead a varied portfolio across multiple projects and programmes.
Develop feasibility studies and options through to early design stages.
