Job summary

Morgan Hunt Recruitment is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join the Glasgow team. You will own the structural design from concept to construction, coordinating with clients and design teams, and mentoring junior engineers as needed.

The role requires a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Chartered status or progress toward chartership, and strong experience in building structures across residential, retail, and commercial sectors. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Proven design experience on building structures in a consulting setting.
• Experience delivering multiple projects across sectors and mentoring juniors.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and delivery from feasibility to construction.
• Own technical delivery, programme and quality for assigned projects.
• Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Design in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, MEPs and design teams.
• Attend client meetings, workshops and site visits as required.
• Provide cost-effective engineering solutions while meeting standards/regulations.
• Review and guide graduate and junior engineers; support business development.
