Job summary

Brandon James Ltd. is seeking a Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer to drive the BRPD offering from its Stokesley office in North Yorkshire. The role combines hands‑on technical delivery with developing the BRPD service and supporting design teams.

You will lead on Higher‑Risk Building matters, manage Gateway submissions, and contribute to bids and the ongoing commercial development of the service. A strong Building Safety Act background is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Building Regulations Principal Designer or Building Control professional.
• Strong Higher‑Risk Building experience.
• Detailed Building Regulations knowledge.
• Solid understanding of the Building Safety Act.
• Experience with Gateway submissions.
• Desire to help build and develop a specialist BRPD service.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients and design teams on Building Regulations compliance throughout delivery, coordinating designers to demonstrate compliance.
• Lead on Higher‑Risk Building matters, including Gateway submissions and design reviews.
• Manage change control and Building Safety Regulator engagement.
• Help develop BRPD procedures, support internal training, and contribute to bids and commercial growth.
