Job summary

WSP in Cardiff is seeking a Principal/Associate Engineer to lead and deliver civil and bridge projects in the Local Government team. You will design bridges, oversee inspections and feasibility studies, and manage schemes from concept to cost estimation.

You will lead a team of six engineers and technicians, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and regional leadership to grow Cardiff's bridges capability.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer status is essential.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment is required.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and highway design standards is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design of bridges and highways structures.
• Bridge strengthening, repair, inspections and assessments.
• General civil and structural engineering support for the wider WSP business.
• Feasibility studies and options appraisals.
• Preparation of documents, reports, health and safety risk assessments, and cost estimates.
• Supervision and mentoring of colleagues; develop developing professionals.
• Financial and project management of schemes.
