Job summary

Lodestone House is seeking a Lead Boarding House Chef to manage daily catering at Uppingham School’s boarding house, delivering fresh, nutritious meals for pupils and staff. You’ll lead menu development, maintain high food-safety standards and work with the house team to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

You will oversee ordering, stock control and costs, while supporting colleagues and creating a welcoming, varied food offer across events and house activities.

Qualifications

• Qualified chef with relevant certification.
• Experience in large-scale catering preferred.
• Excellent hygiene and allergen management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day catering operation in the boarding house and oversee kitchen activities.
• Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals for pupils and staff.
• Manage ordering, stock control, portion control and food costs.
• Ensure highest standards of food safety, hygiene and safe working practices.
• Support and guide kitchen team members and maintain a positive environment.
