Job summary

Cloud Imperium Games in Manchester seeks a Lead AV & Production Systems Engineer to own the AV environment end-to-end across live event stages, motion capture facilities, and conference spaces. You will triage faults daily and manage installs with external contractors to professional standards.

Applicants should have a strong background in live events or broadcast, with FOH mixing, AV over IP, and livestream workflows.

Qualifications

  • Proven high level background in Live events, Broadcast or Touring production e.g. festivals, concerts, theatre, or outside broadcast.
  • Strong audio engineering foundation – FOH mixing, multi-mic setups, signal flow, and live sound at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with Dolby Atmos, large-format projection, broadcast cameras, AV over IP, and conferencing infrastructure.
  • Experience managing and coordinating AV vendors and technical contractors.
  • Solid networking and diagnostic skills to isolate and triage AV-related infrastructure issues.
  • Familiar with livestreaming workflows, video codecs, and mixed audio for network presentations.
  • Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve or similar and QSYS (desirable).
  • Ability to balance needs of multiple teams and stakeholders for a coordinated approach.
  • IT literate – AV stack awareness.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure from high-stakes live productions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the AV environment end-to-end across all spaces, including live event stages, motion capture facilities, multi-set production environments, immersive audio and mix rooms, briefing suites, and conferencing spaces.
  • Perform daily operational checks across all AV spaces and triage faults quickly; resolve in-house or escalate as needed.
  • Act as primary point of contact for AV vendors and contractors – briefing, managing, and overseeing installs and upgrades to a professional standard.
  • Manage complex audio and video systems across multiple spaces, including multi-mic setups, front of house mixing, live sound, and signal flow integrity.
  • Ensure broadcast-quality camera and studio setups across production sets remain operational, supporting livestreaming and mixed audio workflows.
  • Contribute to and lead on the long-term AV strategy for the site.
  • Document systems, processes, and technical specifications.

Cloud Imperium Games is looking for a Lead AV & Production Systems Engineer to take full ownership of our audio-visual environment across our Manchester studio – one of the most technically ambitious and varied AV setups in the games industry.

What does our Lead AV & Production Systems Engineer do?
  • Own the AV environment end-to-end across all spaces, including live event stages, motion capture facilities, multi-set production environments, immersive audio and mix rooms, briefing suites, and conferencing spaces
  • Perform daily operational checks across all AV-equipped spaces and triage faults quickly – resolving in-house where possible, escalating to the relevant department
  • Act as primary point of contact for all AV vendors and specialist contractors – briefing, managing, and overseeing installs, upgrades, and new system builds to a professional standard
  • Manage complex audio and video systems across multiple spaces, including multi-mic setups, front of house mixing, live sound, and signal flow integrity
  • Ensure broadcast-quality camera and studio setups across multiple production sets remain operational, supporting livestreaming, video encoding, and mixed audio workflows
  • Contribute to and lead on the long-term AV strategy for the site
  • Document systems, processes, and technical specifications
What does a good Lead AV & Production Systems Engineer look like to us?

A genuine passion for professional AV is a must, and we'd also like it if you:

  • Proven high level background in either: Live events, Broadcast or Touring production e.g. festivals, concerts, theatre, or outside broadcast
  • Have a strong audio engineering foundation – such as; FOH mixing, multi-mic setups, signal flow, and live sound at scale
  • Have hands‑on experience with Dolby Atmos, large-format projection, broadcast cameras, AV over IP, and conferencing infrastructure
  • Have experience managing and coordinating AV vendors and technical contractors
  • Carry solid networking and diagnostic skills to isolate and triage AV‑related infrastructure issues
  • Are familiar with livestreaming workflows, video codecs, and mixed audio for network presentations
  • Have working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve or similar and QSYS (desirable)
  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and coherent approach
  • Are IT literate – you understand that IT is part of the AV stack and work accordingly
  • Are calm and decisive under pressure – you've previously run high‑stakes live productions
