Sheridan Maine is recruiting for an established West London accountancy practice to hire an Audit Supervisor. You will supervise audits, manage client relationships, and develop junior staff within a supportive team.

The role requires UK practice experience, ACA/ACCA or near completion, and strong communication skills. You will work on-site in West London with a varied client portfolio and opportunities to progress supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• ACA or ACCA qualification, or nearing completion of a professional qualification.
• Strong external audit experience, including leading or supervising assignments.
• Good technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Experience reviewing audit files and supporting junior colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills and client liaison.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Proactive, professional approach with attention to detail.

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy practice based in West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Supervisor to join a professional and supportive team, taking responsibility for audit assignments across a varied portfolio of clients.

The position offers a broad range of audit responsibilities, making it particularly appealing to someone who enjoys managing assignments, building strong client relationships and supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities of the Audit Supervisor will include:

• Supervising audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Leading on-site audit work and ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Reviewing audit working papers and ensuring compliance with relevant auditing standards.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
• Identifying and resolving audit issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate.
• Supervising and supporting junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
• Liaising with Managers and Partners on audit findings and client requirements.
• Assisting with the preparation and review of statutory accounts.
• Supporting improvements to audit processes and working practices.

The successful Audit Supervisor will have:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• ACA or ACCA qualification, or be nearing completion of a professional qualification.
• Strong experience in external audit, including leading or supervising audit assignments.
• Good technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Experience reviewing audit files and supporting junior colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• A proactive, professional approach with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
