Job summary

The Applied Scientist at Wiley will serve as the scientific lead within AI Studio engagement pods, partnering with Forward Deployed Engineers to design and deliver AI-enabled research workflows for pharmaceutical, biotech, and materials science customers.

You will translate complex scientific problems into technical requirements, evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, and help shape product direction while building senior stakeholder relationships across customers and the Wiley ecosystem.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (PhD preferred).
Significant post-doctoral or industry research experience (5+ years).
Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy and relevance.
Experience translating scientific problems into technical requirements and solution designs.

Responsibilities

Lead the scientific delivery of AI-driven professional services engagements.
Partner with Forward Deployed Engineers to bridge scientific and technical domains.
Participate in pre-sales and early scoping to validate feasibility.
Build relationships with senior researchers and R&D leaders.
Contribute to AI Studio product development with scientific requirements and credibility.
