Job summary

Wiley is seeking an Applied Scientist to lead scientific delivery within AI Studio engagement pods, partnering with Forward Deployed Engineers to translate research workflows into AI-enabled solutions for pharma, biotech, and materials science customers.

You will work with senior researchers, validate AI outputs for scientific rigor, and help shape product capabilities through early scoping and customer engagement, while ensuring compliance with data sources and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (PhD preferred).
• Significant post-doctoral or industry research experience (5+ years).
• Industry-specific expertise in life sciences, chemistry, or materials science is a plus.
• Experience with evaluating AI outputs for scientific accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the scientific delivery of AI-driven professional services engagements, including: mapping customer research workflows to identify AI opportunities.
• Translating scientific problems into technical requirements; evaluating AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy and relevance.
• Presenting findings and solutions to senior stakeholders; partnering with Forward Deployed Engineers to bridge scientific and technical domains.
• Contributing to AI Studio product development by defining scientific requirements and validating credibility.
