Job summary

The Manchester College in Manchester is seeking a Lead Technician (Animal Care) to lead welfare standards, support the Animal Management curriculum, and supervise a team of Animal Care Technicians. This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Wythenshawe campus with a 35-hour week and weekend requirements.

The successful candidate will ensure high welfare standards and contribute to teaching delivery while managing staff and resources to support learners in the program.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English & Mathematics required.
• NVQ Level 2 in an industry relevant qualification required.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards within first year.

Responsibilities

• Lead on animal welfare standards and day-to-day care.
• Line manage a team of Animal Care Technicians.
• Support delivery of the Animal Management curriculum.
• Weekend working is required to meet animal welfare needs.
• Manage stock control and budgets and supervise cross-site teams.
