Job summary

Cleo is seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract in London to own the architecture and modelling for People data. You will collaborate with People, Security, Finance, and business owners to build trusted datasets and enforce data contracts.

You will design secure data models, integrate engagement data, and enable leadership reporting with governed data foundations, while ensuring maintainable handover upon contract completion.

Qualifications

• Proven SQL and dbt mastery across source, staging and semantic layers.
• Ability to design robust data models with history and contracts.
• Experience leading data-domain architecture decisions and migrations.
• Strong data security practices: access controls, masking, auditing.
• Knowledge of monitoring through warehouse logs and alerts.
• Solid Git, PR reviews, tests and runbooks for production.
• Ability to explain complex choices to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with HRIS/ATS data (Ashby, HiBob) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and modelling for People data workstreams.
• Partner with People, Security, Finance and business owners on access rules.
• Turn source data into trusted datasets for analytics and leadership.
• Strengthen the core employee model across entities and time.
• Integrate engagement and survey data into the data foundation.
• Define data contracts, grain, tests, and naming conventions.
• Identify and fix duplicate or conflicting models without breaking downstream.
• Design secure architecture for restricted fields and masked outputs.
• Build data-access audit layer to track queries and access events.
• Create governed workforce measures for leadership reporting.
• Add tests, runbooks, and handover docs for post-contract operations.
