Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join Curve's central data team, building scalable analytics platforms and production-grade ELT pipelines with dbt and BigQuery.

You will model complex datasets across payments, credit and growth, driving data quality, testing, and CI/CD practices while collaborating with data, BI and business stakeholders. Mentoring teammates and codifying engineering standards are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in analytics engineering, data engineering or a related discipline.
• Deep hands-on expertise using dbt as a primary transformation tool.
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience modelling large-scale datasets in a cloud data warehouse.
• Strong experience with BigQuery, including incremental models, partitioning and cost optimisation.
• Experience designing and owning complex data models from requirements through to production.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain engineering standards, testing strategies and CI/CD practices.
• Experience implementing data quality controls, monitoring and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles including Git, version control and modular development.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting the development of other analytics engineers.
• Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow or Composer.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-grade ELT pipelines using dbt and BigQuery.
• Own modelling of complex datasets across payments, credit and growth.
• Drive best practices in data modelling, testing, CI/CD and performance optimisation.
• Mentor other analytics engineers and shape data function standards.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI Engineering and stakeholders to ensure reliable, cost-efficient data.
