Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking a Lead Analyst to drive the analytical agenda behind major digital transformation programmes. You will set the vision, lead a diverse team of economists, ORs, statisticians and data analysts, and influence policy and delivery at the highest levels.

You will champion evidence-based decision making, develop measurement frameworks and ensure quality assurance across transformation work, while collaborating across government and with ministers.

Responsibilities

• Setting a clear overall vision for the programme of analytical work in the Digital Analytics Directorate and the wider Transformation Group in collaboration with the Director and other Deputy Directors.
• Strong personal leadership, setting a clear vision and objectives for the division, building capability, staff engagement and performance.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across DWP and wider government and externally to establish a high impact evaluation, research and analysis programme.
• Acting as the senior analytical adviser for major transformation programmes, providing strategic challenge and insight to executive leaders, boards and Ministers.
• Championing customer and colleague insight to inform operational delivery, policy development and service transformation.
• Leading the development of transformation measurement frameworks, including performance metrics, benefits realisation and value-for-money assessments.
• Strengthening the evidence base and developing evidence narratives to support transformation activities.
• Acting as the accountable senior analytical leader for quality, integrity and use of evidence across the Lead Analyst area.
• As a member of the Senior Civil Service, contributing to wider leadership, diversity and capability growth across DWP.
