Job summary

Faculty AI is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to lead original technical research advancing safe AI systems. You will balance scientific rigor with practical relevance, producing publications, tooling, and reports that inform frontier labs, government institutes, and national security stakeholders.

You will drive the research agenda, contribute to evaluations, and collaborate with cross-functional safety teams to translate theory into concrete mitigation strategies while developing robust

Qualifications

• Strong track record in AI research with publications or equivalent experience.
• Ability to own research end-to-end, from framing novel problems to producing artifacts.
• Passion for technical AI safety and its practical implications.
• Deep knowledge of language models and generative AI architectures beyond API access.
• Strong foundation in ML fundamentals: robustness, explainability, and uncertainty estimation.
• Proficiency with PyTorch and Python to build research tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead original technical research in AI safety and publish high-impact results.
