Job summary

Intellias in London is seeking an experienced infrastructure-focused engineer to design, build, and maintain Python services and internal tooling forming the firm's on-prem infrastructure platform, enabling safe and scalable AI adoption.

You will collaborate with AI/ML research teams, replace manual operations with self-service workflows, and implement robust observability and security by default. This role offers ownership of production systems in a regulated financial setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on infrastructure or platform tooling.
• Proficiency in Python production-grade development including packaging and typing.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and on-prem hardware awareness.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Observability tooling with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Security-focused engineering including secrets management and access control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document designs.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining Python services and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with consuming engineering teams to turn pain points into platform features.
• Replace manual operations with self-service workflows.
• Build observability into the platform with metrics and alerts.
• Own production issues end to end and implement fixes.
• Scale compute and storage across on-premises hardware.
• Incorporate security by default: secrets management and least-privilege access.
• Evaluate new tools and fold successful ones into the platform roadmap.
