Job summary

Wellcome Genome Campus Limited seeks a Principal Staff Scientist (computational) to lead AI/ML and genomic data analyses for the Human Genetics Programme. The role involves strategic direction, hands-on analysis, and coordinating with statisticians and analysts across cohorts and multiomic data.

A PhD and extensive AI/ML expertise are required. This permanent, hybrid position offers access to large-scale human cohorts and world-class sequencing facilities, with opportunities to impact disease

Qualifications

• PhD in statistical genetics or related quantitative discipline with strong AI/ML background.
• Proven track record in applying AI/ML to genomic/clinical data.
• Experience with high-dimensional biological data analysis.
• Publications or outputs demonstrating advanced methods in genetics or disease prediction.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for AI/ML across the Human Genetics Programme.
• Lead and coordinate AI/ML projects and ensure methodological consistency.
• Work hands-on with data analysis across genomic, multiomic, and clinical datasets.
• Represent the Programme in internal and external scientific discussions.
