Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services UK&I is seeking a Lead AI Engineer in Manchester to design and deliver AI/ML workflows and end-to-end projects. You will work with platforms like Gemini, Azure OpenAI, and Cloud Vision, developing solutions using Python and LangChain within cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong Python skills, experience with AI/ML frameworks, and a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and statistical modelling.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Proficiency in Python (with optional experience in R or Java).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and statistical modelling.
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end AI/ML projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong collaboration experience within multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Role: Lead AI Engineer

The Role

As a Lead AI/ML Engineer, you will work with Gemini, Azure OpenAI, Cloud Vision or similar platforms. Proficiency in Python (with optional experience in R or Java). Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and statistical modelling. Proven experience delivering end-to-end AI/ML projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Strong collaboration experience within multi-disciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience: Familiarity with LangChain and RAG systems. Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure). Knowledge of prompt-engineering methods. Exposure to multi-agent orchestration frameworks. Understanding of ethical and Responsible AI practices.
