Job summary

NHS Scotland is inviting applications for a Qualified or Trainee Advanced Paramedic Practitioner (Urgent & Primary Care) based in Shetland. The role involves independent decision-making, complex patient assessment, and prescribing within a dynamic urgent care setting as part of the Scottish Ambulance Service partnership.

The post includes a training pathway with funded postgraduate study, and progression to Band 7 on successful completion.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Paramedic.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice (including V300 prescribing).
• Evidence of completion of an Advanced Practice Competency Framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level independent assessment, diagnosis, management and prescribing for complex patients.
• Work within Urgent & Primary Care in a multidisciplinary team and support the Scottish Ambulance Service.
• Contribute to service-wide audit, research, training and education.
