Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran seeks a Qualified or Trainee Advanced Paramedic Practitioner for Urgent & Primary Care in Shetland. The role involves high‑level clinical decision making, including diagnosis and prescribing for complex patients, within a rotational, multidisciplinary setup with SAS and NHS Shetland.

The post supports training to a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice with V300 prescribing, and assimilates successful candidates to Band 7.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered paramedic.
• SCQF Level 11 Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice (including V300 prescribing).
• Evidence of completion of an Advanced Practice Competency Framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level, independent assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment including prescribing for complex patients.
• Work in a rotational model with the multidisciplinary team at NHS Shetland Urgent and Unscheduled Care Services.
• Involve remote telephone and video consultations and provide professional support for other clinicians.
