Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking qualified or trainee Advanced Paramedic Practitioners (Urgent & Primary Care) for a new post in Shetland. The role combines urgent and primary care with remote consultations and multidisciplinary team collaboration.

Qualified applicants must be HCPC-registered paramedics with a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice (including V300 prescribing) and evidence of Advanced Practice Competency Framework. Training and progression to Band 7 are provided.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered paramedics are eligible to apply.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice with V300 prescribing.
• Evidence of completion of Advanced Practice Competency Framework.
• Willingness to relocate to Shetland and operate in a seven-day rotation including day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level, independent decision-making for urgent and primary care.
• Assess, diagnose, manage, and treat patients with complex needs.
• Deliver remote telephone and video consultations.
• Support other clinicians and respond on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
