Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to develop adult acquired SaLT skills within an acute in-patient NHS setting. The role is a full-time fixed term contract and can suit Band 6 or Band 5 SaLT with relevant experience and competencies.

You will work in a busy SaLT team on 18 acute wards and possibly the Stroke Unit, with responsibilities for assessment, diagnosis and treatment decisions, and strong MDT liaison.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy is required.
• Postgraduate training in adult dysphagia is preferred.
• HCPC registration is essential.
• RCSLT membership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clinical work across acute wards and potentially the Stroke Unit, managing patient assessment and treatment decisions.
• Liaison with SaLT and MDT colleagues to ensure care continuity.
• Contribute to development of the SaLT team, including supervision and CPD.
• Train hospital staff in communication and swallowing techniques.
