Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Specialist Speech & Language Therapist in Adult Acute Dysphagia on a permanent Band 7 post. The role includes managing a highly complex dysphagia caseload within acute inpatient services and contributing to service development.

Applicants should have strong Adult Acute and complex dysphagia experience, with evidence of instrumental swallowing assessment (FEES and/or Videofluoroscopy) and emerging clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree and HC Registration.
• Post-qualification dysphagia accreditation or equivalent.
• Advanced post-registration training relevant to Adult Acute practice.
• Experience with instrumental swallowing assessment (FEES/VFS) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in acute inpatient services.
• Independently manage a highly complex Band 7 caseload with advanced clinical reasoning.
• Undertake instrumental swallowing assessments (FEES/VFS).
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision and education to colleagues.
• Contribute to education, quality improvement and service development.
